1. What a notice must contain

Use the contact form, choose the copyright topic and include these six points:

  1. which protected work is affected – several works may be listed together;
  2. the full address of the page here that shows the disputed item;
  3. how we can reach you: name, postal address, phone and email;
  4. your declaration that, in good faith, you believe neither the rights holder, nor anyone acting for them, nor any law permits this use;
  5. a statement – given under penalty of perjury – that every detail in the notice is true and that the rights are yours or you speak for their holder;
  6. a handwritten or digital signature – your typed full name will do.

Once a notice is complete we look at it promptly, and where it holds up we take the item down or block access to it.

2. Counter notification

Think something of yours was removed through an error or a mix-up? Then answer through the same form. Name the item and where it used to be, and state under penalty of perjury your sincere conviction that the takedown was an error. Add your name, address and phone number, accept that the US federal court for the district you live in may hear the matter (from abroad: any district where we can be found), and sign. If the person who complained does not tell us within 10 to 14 working days that they have gone to court, we may put the item back.

3. Content on other platforms

Shows, profiles and pictures on chat and cam platforms are hosted by those companies, not by us. Please send removal requests about them directly to the platform involved.

4. Material involving a minor

Material anywhere that might show a person under 18 belongs with the NCMEC CyberTipline straight away: report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678. Then drop us a line through the contact form, and any link of ours that leads near it disappears at once.
